How Solar Technology Works

Solar Photovoltaic (SPV) Panels work on the phenomenon called the Photoelectric Effect to produce electricity. Solar Panels are blocks of specially designed semiconducting material, which produce electricity when light falls on them. The small amount of electricity is generatedby each panel is accumulated by combininga large quantity of solar panels in Solar Arrays. This produces electricity for everyday consumption.

TheSPV panels generate DC power andusing Solar Inverters is converted to AC power.The solar power systems generate power during the daytime, which is utilized fully by your captive loads. The excess power is fed to grid (in grid-based system) or stored in battery-bank (in off-grid or hybrid system). In case, when solar power is not sufficient due to cloud cover etc., the captive loads are served by drawing power from the grid or battery-bank.Depending on the load and existing power system,440/220V system (for homes and buildings) or 33/11kv system (for industrial and large commercials) is installed.
